This one is for all of you “old timers”. Thanks to one of the guys in this picture for digging this one up to be shared with all of us!

 

Well…we promised a prize. The winner will be the proud recipient of a Brand New Herman’s watch (though the battery may need to be replaced! LOL!)

 

Here’s the way it works:

 

1. You need to answer as many of the questions below correctly by posting to this thread
2. The contest will end at midnight July 11, 2008
3. You can post to this thread as many times as you would like…so if you believe you can take advantage of someone else’s answer…feel free to do so…cheating is encouraged!
4. In the event of a tie there will be a sudden death playoff question

2. Two of the people in this picture are members of this web site and are not eligible to compete…but like I said cheating is encouraged…you can send them a Private Message and ask them for help.

Well the only thing I can answer is that is definitely the old Eatontown store #114 I was way too young at the time to know anyone in the picture.  Also if I had to guess it was the grand opening.

If it was Paramus - Store 103

Eatontown was Store 114.

The event was the celebration of the parking lot being paved.

Probably 1980, 81.    

Gus was the Regional Manager

Smile was the first customer for the store and big Joe was the store manager.

The guy in the background was the store's first shoplifter.  He tried to walk out with a pair of Air Jordans. 

After the photo, Gus and Joe took Bob in and fitted him for a NIKE Warmup suit.

boy, tom oshea aren't we the comedian????????  here are my answers

1. we all know the middle guy is Gus Horianopoulus, the other two are Jim Dedieo, and Mike Doyle.

2. grand opening celebration

4. store-47th street and 6th ave,  although there is no traffic at all in front of the store. and i michele kacsur do not remember 47th street store

5. store number-132  forgot to look up phone number on chart.

6.the positions were regional managers.

7. the suit was from E>J> Korvette(???) or Robert Halls

or maybe it is Kenny Wong's or Lenny Foster??????? anyone know if they are okay?????

tommy i need the watch because i still always late for everything??????

• Tom O'Shea had 1 correct, 2 partially correct (SP), and a number of good answers for the Bonus Question.
• Dan Mulligan had 2 correct.
• Ruth Nally had 1 partially correct (SP).
• Michele Kascur had 1 correct, 1 partially correct, and also had a couple of good answers for the Bonus Question.

Since we didn't have an officail grading system and Bob doesn't remember where he "acquired" (who he rolled) the suit...we are awarding a Fine Herman's Timepiece to all of you that participated!!!
