9More information should be put into the system about the stores in the metropolitan area and surrounding communities because thats what made Hermans what it was up until 1996.  All the warehouse sales in N.J. and New York were very important to the well being of the chain.  A lot time and effort went into these sales and the personnel in the stores spent many hours running them plus working in the own stores. Hermans could still been a force in the retail community if more emphasis had been put into the stores and listening to the Employees on what was the current trends.

Carateret should havae been listening to the employees in all of the stores when the current trends became popular.  After all this is what kept Carteret alive. I met Mr. Steinlauf, Larry Kuper,Irving Baideck, all of the originals including the buyers.  Ruth Nally, Amy Gordon, Paul Richards just to name a few.  Gus Horianopulus was one of store  managers and it was great to hear his commentary the night of the reunion. I guessed that he was the one who quoted the sign saluation. I will be back with more information.  I was surprised to hear that the Bankruptcy began in 1993.
